Injured AEW Star Ready For His Return

AEW has a wealth of talent under contract, which sometimes leads to certain wrestlers being forgotten due to lack of creative direction or injuries. However, the promotion is close to seeing the return of one star.

Bandido has been sidelined since suffering a wrist injury while working a match against Konosuke Takeshita on an episode of Rampage that aired in June. He was initially getting close to making an in-ring return before this injury. The original expected return timeframe was April or May.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Bandido is now ready to return. Meltzer said, “There’s a lot of people on that injured list right now. It’s a big list of amazingly talented and valuable people, some of whom have been out for a long time. Bandido should be back around now. The last I’d heard about him was May, and May is just about over. I don’t know what the situation is with him. Tonight would have been a good night to debut in that battle royale or gauntlet because he would have gotten a big pop and been fantastic. Sometimes, when guys disappear, they’re just kind of forgotten about.”

We will have to see how AEW handles Bandido’s creative direction upon his return. His return could be significant, as he was signed with much fanfare, with WWE also showing interest in him. Now, it’s up to Tony Khan to decide how to utilize him.
