Endeavor has introduced a new approach to handling contract situations. Ricochet, also known as the One And Only, may become a free agent if changes aren’t made.
Fightful Select reports that Ricochet’s WWE contract is due to expire this summer. It was reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Ricochet signed a five-year deal in 2019, which is set to end this summer.
Ricochet is expected to attract significant interest from many companies capable of affording his services. AEW International Champion Will Ospreay expressed in an interview last week his desire to face Ricochet again.
WWE sources have stated that contract discussions are planned between WWE and Ricochet. He would be a big name to lose, especially with his connection to WWE RAW ring announcer Samantha Irvin, as they are married.
Several WWE contracts are expiring this year. Many five-year deals were signed in 2019, and some three-year extensions were made in 2021. WWE reportedly timed these contracts to align with their TV deals.
Becky Lynch and Natalya also have deals expiring very soon. We will have to see what happens in this situation, but Endeavor is certainly handling things in a different way.
