Details On TNA Office Changes

In what seems like a shocking move, TNA Wrestling had some pretty big backstage departures. Who? You ask. Pwinsider.com had the original report.

Dave Sahadi, who held the post of Creative Director for the promotion and had been with the Anthem version of TNA from 2019 on, is gone from the promotion, PWInsider.com has confirmed.  He was the Director for TNA broadcasts for 18 years during prior ownerships and was Creative Director for WWE for a number of years prior to that.

RD Evans, who was considered head of creative and was also a Producer, is also gone.  The word making the rounds is that relations between Evans and the company had grown strained in recent weeks and that Evans had been obviously “increasingly frustrated” according to one source.  The common belief among those we’ve spoken with is that Evans made the decision to leave, although some in TNA tried to paint it as a mutual agreement.  My belief is that Evans left of his own accord.  Evans’ exit happened prior to yesterday’s firings and was a separate situation.

We can also confirm there were multiple departures from the live events division, part of what was described to PWInsider as a “restructuring.”

We are told that the company is working on who will oversee that aspect going forward as they have yet to lock in plans beyond the summer.  As of this morning, there is no location or venue set for Bound for Glory.

There may have been additional departures as well.  It is not believed any talents were released.

Confirming some of it and expanding on this report was Fightful.com.

Fightful confirmed that three employees were let go, confirming PWInsider’s report that longtime producer David Sahadi was let go.
We’re told that he would be replaced.

In addition, Fightful confirmed that Lou D’Angeli was let go. D’Angeli was known as Lou E. Dangerously in ECW, and had served as VP of Marketing at Anthem Sports Group with TNA.

Their departures were said to be Anthem wanting to go in a new direction and get more effective in the live event markets.

Another departure was RD Evans, who actually left of his own volition.
The earlier report elsewhere indicated there were no events announced after early August, but we’ve confirmed a late August set of tapings as well.

This comes shortly after TNAs sister company, Invicta FC, is finally getting back on track for live events, announcing their first event of 2024 for June 28th, as well as the first even in nearly 8 months for the company as a whole. The belief is that TNA and Invicta FC will be aligning their live events and production stuff to work with both, but that remains to be seen.

TNA is gearing up for their Against All Odds LIVE event on 6/14.
