Jinder Mahal Recalls The Time Vince McMahon Was ‘Indian Dancing’ To His Theme Song

Jinder Mahal initially wasn’t the biggest fan of his WWE theme song.

In 2017, Jinder Mahal shocked the world when he defeated Randy Orton at Backlash to become the WWE Champion. He would go on to lose it a couple of months later to AJ Styles and this past year, it would be announced by the WWE that he was released from his contract with the company.

During an interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Mahal spoke about his theme song and how he wasn’t the biggest fan, plus how he was told that Vince McMahon was ‘Indian dancing’ to it during his entrance.

“I get that a lot. A lot of people tell me that, like, ‘Your theme’s a banger.’ Even a lot of the boys. Actually, Tamina told me one time my entrance music was playing, and Vince was dancing in Gorilla Position. Yeah [laughs]. I said the same thing. ‘What?’ So yeah, he was dancing in Gorilla, like Indian dancing [laughs],” Mahal said.

“Yeah, I didn’t actually like it that much. Because based off of what I had given them as inspiration, it was nothing like that. [I gave them] other Punjabi songs. There’s an artist called Diljit [Dosanjh], I gave them some of his songs as a sample. But I love it. It’s good. I love it now. It grew on me,” Mahal said.

“It’s a dope song, perfect for me. My music got switched temporarily when I was with Shanky, but likely it got brought back. When I was in NXT, they brought it back,” Mahal said.

Mahal is set to compete at Black Label Pro’s event ‘Old Habits Die Screaming’ on July 26.
