NJPW New Japan Soul Night 6 Results & Review (July 3rd)

NJPW aired the 6th Night of the New Japan Soul on NJPW World live in Tokyo Japan inside Korakuen Hall & we will find out the finalist of the Block A & B Qualifying Tournament.

8 Man Tag Team Match
Junior Heavyweight Champion El Desperado, Great Bash Heel (Tomoaki Honma & Togi Makabe) & Yuji Nagata vs. Just 5 Guys (Taka Michinoku, Yuya Uemura, Sanada & Douki)

El Desperado & Douki starts this match with fast reversals and neither man really connecting with a big move. Sanada & Yuji Nagata locked up with Nagata applying a Figure 4.

Nagata tied up Taka Michinoku on the mat before Tomoaki Honma hits Kokeshi on Uemura.

Douki hit a dive through the ropes on Desperado before Uemura hits a top rope crossbody for the win.

6 Man Tag Team Match
Los Ingobernables De Japon (Hiromu Takahashi, Yota Tsuji & Titan) vs. House Of Torture (Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Ren Narita & Sho)

House Of Torture attacks Los Ingobernables De Japon at the bell and all 6 brawled before Titan hits a tornado DDT on Sho.

On the floor Ren Narita jabs a chair into Hiromu Takahashi’s stomach and Yoshinobu Kanemaru got a near fall in the ring. Yota Tsuji enters and hit a splash to the mat on Ren for a near fall.

Tsuji hits a double shoulder tackle and was fired up and he locks Narita in a Boston Crab and turned it into a pendulum swing.

Evil, Dick Togo & Yujiro Takahashi jumped in the ring and attacked causing the DQ.

After the match Shingo Takagi got on the mic and noted he just got back from America while the House Of Torture stayed here. He challenged House Of Torture to make this a 12 Man Tag Team Match.

Los Ingobernables De Japon (IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi, Hiromu Takahashi, Yota Tsuji, Titan & Bushi) vs. House Of Torture (Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Yujiro Takahashi, Ren Narita, Dick Togo, Evil & Sho)

Both teams brawled at the bell before Dick Togo hits a knife edge chop to Tetsuya Naito’s groin before this gets quick with wrestlers in and out of the ring.

LIJ took turns hitting running forearms and clotheslines in a corner on Togo then Bushi locks Togo in Fable for the submission win.

Champion vs. Champion Semi Final Match Of The 2024 G1 Climax Block B Qualifying Tournament
NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Team Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Team Champion Boltin Oleg

Hiroshi Tanahashi hits a dropkick on the left knee and grounded Boltin Oleg early on.

Oleg hit a shotgun dropkick but sold the pain in his knee upon landing then hits a running splash to the mat for a near fall then a gutwrench suplex but he missed a Vader Bomb.

Tanahashi hits a Sling Blade clothesline for a near fall then went for Ace’s High but Oleg caught him, put Tanahashi on his shoulders and hits a modified Death Valley Driver.

Oleg hits Kamikaze then a 2nd one for the win.

Winner: NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Team Champion Boltin Oleg (6:50)

Semi Final Match Of The 2024 G1 Climax Block A Qualifying Tournament
Kenta vs. Callum Newman

Kenta attacks Callum Newman in the corner before the bell and hits some roundhouse kicks to the chest.

They immediately went to the floor where Kenta whips him into the guardrail before Newman hits a plancha and he whips Kenta into the guardrail.

They brawled over the guardrail and on the floor near the fans then they got back in the ring where Kenta hit repeated knee drops on Newman’s forehead. Kenta peppered him with kicks.

Newman ran the ropes and hits Mafia Kick then Newman hits a dropkick in the corner then a running Penalty Kick for a near fall.

The ref got bumped then Kenta hits a DDT then he got a kendo stick and hit Newman across the back 8 times and about 6 or 7 blows to the stomach.

Kenta got his Defy World Title but Newman hits OsCutter for a visual pin but we didn’t have a ref.

Newman pulls the ref into the ring and shouted profanities at him so Kenta hits a low blow for a near fall.

Kenta hit a running knee for a near fall then went for Go To Sleep but Newman somehow blocked it.

Newman hit a jumping knee to the forehead then a springboard double stomp to the back then connects with OsCutter for the win.

Winner: Callum Newman (14:38)

Semi Final Match Of The 2024 G1 Climax Block B Qualifying Tournament
Taichi vs. TJP

Match starts off with a feeling out process with standing switches to open then they brawled into the crowd where Taichi hits a roundhouse kick that drops TJP.

They got in the ring with Taichi in complete control and he hit some facewash kicks in the corner.

TJP hits a headscissors takedown then snaps Taichi’s left arm backward and Taichi immediately sold the pain and rolls to the floor to regroup.

In the ring TJP hits a top rope flying forearm and he hits facewash kicks before TJP hits an inverted DDT out of the ropes for a near fall.

Taichi hit an enzuigiri and they were both down before TJP tied him in an Octopus but Taichi escaped and Taichi hit a back suplex and they were both down. TJP hooks both arms and rolls Taichi up for a near fall.

Taichi hit an enzuigiri then a clothesline then a cover but TJP pops up at one so Taichi immediately hit a Superkick follow by Black Mephisto for the win,

Winner: Taichi (19:26) (They will face Oleg in the Finals)

Semi Final Match Of The 2024 G1 Climax Block A Qualifying Tournament
Tomohiro Ishii vs. Yoshi Hashi

Yoshi Hashi hit some chops before Tomohiro Ishii hit a series of forearm strikes in the corner that drops Yoshi Hashi. Yoshi Hashi hits a dragon screw and they were both down.

Yoshi Hashi hits a top rope blockbuster for a near fall then they got up and traded mid-ring chops.

Yoshi Hashi switched to a clothesline that staggered Ishii. They traded clotheslines and both collapsed.

Yoshi Hashi hit a shotgun dropkick before Ishii hits a flying shoulder tackle.

Yoshi Hashi hits a superkick then a brainbuster for a near fall then hits a clothesline for another near fall.

Ishii fired back with a German suplex and they were both down. Ishii got up and hits a clothesline.

Ishii hit a standing powerbomb with a jackknife cover for a near fall then Yoshi Hashi hits a Lungblower to the chest. Ishii hit a sliding clothesline for a near fall.

Ishii set up for a brainbuster but Yoshi Hashi escaped and turned it into a DDT and they were both down.

Yoshi Hashi hits a clothesline to the back of the neck. Ishii hit a leaping headbutt.

Yoshi Hashi hit a Canadian Destroyer for a near fall then hits another clothesline for a near fall.

Ishii hits a Dragon Suplex then an enzuigiri and he was fired up before Ishii hits a clothesline for a near fall.

Yoshi Hashi hit a Dragon Suplex and 2 superkicks then a Crucifix Bomb then hits Karma for the win. 

Winner: Yoshi Hashi (26:01) (He will face Newman in the Finals)
