Rey Mysterio believes in his deadbeat son.
In 2020, Dominik Mysterio joined the WWE and in 2021, he became the SmackDown Tag Team Champion with his father, Rey Mysterio. Dominik would go on to betray his father and align himself with Judgement Day which he is still part of as he heads into his fourth year with the WWE.
During an interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Rey was asked if he sees Dom winning a world championship in the future like his dad, this is what he had to say below.
“Yeah, most definitely. Dom is getting really good at what he’s doing and he’s understanding the craft. The fact that he’s where he’s at with such little time, I wish I could be there, or I could have been there with four years of being in the business. I didn’t know sh*t at four years. [Look who he’s learned from] Not only me, yes, I am his father. But the fact that he’s been able to be in there with the best; Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, John Cena. All these moments are moments that give you the ability to learn. So I think he’s taken very well advantage of those moments and has added them to his career,” Mysterio said.
Rey once again beat his son, this time on the July 1 edition of Monday Night Raw to extend the score to 3-0 (including tag team matches) against Dominik.
