Cody Rhodes Says He Is Open To Wrestling Naomichi Marufuji Down The Road

The American Nightmare wants all challengers.

On July 13, AJ Styles made the trip down to Pro Wrestling NOAH where he fought and defeated the legendary Naomichi Marufuji in a match that many fans are calling a five-star exchange between both wrestlers.

During an interview with Pro Wrestling NOAH’s YouTube channel, the current Undisputed WWE Champion spoke about how he would be open to facing the legend that is Marufuji down the road.

“It’s not hyperbole to say that Marufuji, how important he is to modern pro wrestling and modern sports entertainment, I mean, if you hit the ropes behind another guy, you call that a ‘Marufuji.’ That’s a Marufuji forearm, that’s what I do. It’s part of my comeback that I have in my own matches, so just that, the fact that I’ve never got in the ring with him, that could be something that could happen down the road,” Rhodes said.

Rhodes is set to defend his championship gold against Solo Sikoa at this year’s SummerSlam event in Cleveland, Ohio.
