Kelani Jordan: I Like Paying Homage To The Greats That Came Before Me Like Rob Van Dam And Rey Mysterio

Kelani Jordan credits two former World Champions who inspired her work in the ring.

Kelani Jordan has shown off and it’s paid off big during her time in NXT, the current NXT Women’s North American Champion has brought out moves from legends such as the former ECW World, as well as the WWE Champion, Rob Van Dam and the former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion, Rey Mysterio.

It’s not a random coincidence for Jordan, on an appearance with Busted Open Radio, she credited both legends for her work in the ring.

“I do love me some RVD. He’s inspired a lot of my work. If you see my style, a lot of it is inspired after him, and after Rey (Mysterio). I try to add my own style to it, but I do like to pay homage to the greats that came before me,” Jordan said on Busted Open Radio.

When asked if she could do a VanTerminator, Jordan replied, “Yes, I definitely could. I don’t want to steal everything, but I do like to take some of his stuff. I also want to be innovative and create thing that are Kelani-esque. I definitely think that I can do all of those things. He co-signed me and I got to meet him WrestleMania weekend and he’s awesome. I felt that was a co-sign.”

Jordan is set to defend her NXT Women’s North American Championship on August 6 against Tatum Paxley at The Great American Bash.
