CMLL stars call out TMDK for title challenge.
Hechicero and Virus, by means of a video with English subtitles uploaded to NJPW’s Global X account, issued a challenge for Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls’ tag team championships for NJPW’s return to Washington D.C., STRONG Capital Collision.
The luchadores did not clarify which set of belts they would be challenging for as the team known collectively as TMDK hold both the NJPW STRONG Openweight tag team championships and IWGP Heavyweight titles. This will not be either man’s first appearance on an NJPW STRONG show in 2024 as they defeated TMDK’s Zack Sabre Jr. and Bad Dude Tito at FantasticaMania U.S. in early July.
If made official, the match will be Haste and Nicholls’ first defense of either set of titles after winning the belts in a four way tornado tag at NJPW’s Dominion event on 6/9.
