GYV set to make their New Japan debut.
In a short video uploaded to New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s global account, Grizzled Young Veterans, the tag team of James Drake and Zack Gibson, laid claim to a spot on NJPW’s Capital Collision event in late August.
The duo made time to praise the company and its reputation, citing it as the place where tag teams such as the Steiner brothers and the Road Warriors “needed to go to prove themselves”. The team formerly known as The Dyad in WWE NXT did not name a specific opponent for the event, but New Japan contains a number of tag teams under the STRONG brand and domestic brand that may face off with the RevPro Undisputed British Tag Team champions.
NJPW STRONG Capital Collision will be New Japan’s first major event after the conclusion of their yearly G1 Climax. Numerous matches have already been announced for the card with stars such as IWGP World Heavyweight champion Tetsuya Naito, NJPW STRONG Women’s champion Mercedes Moné, Tomohiro Ishii, IWGP Global champion David Finlay, and more scheduled to make appearances at the event.
