NXT The Great American Bash Night 2 Results & Review (August 6th, 2024)

On August 6th, 2024 NXT aired the 2nd & Final Night of The Great American Bash live in Orlando Florida inside WWE Performance Center & can watch the show on USA Network (United States) & SportsNet 360 (Canada).

-Kicking off Night 2 of The Great American Bash with a vlog from Hank Walker & Tank Ledger recapping the events of Night 1 of The Great American Bash.

Pete Dunne vs. Trick Williams

Trick Williams connects with a dropkick on Pete Dunne then hits him with a chop and connects with a 2nd one.

Dunne cinches in a submission hold on Williams but Williams counters into a vertical suplex to escape and goes for a pin but Dunne kicks out.

Dunne locks in another submission on Williams and snaps his fingers then stomps on them and fires off forearms on him. He locks in another submission but Williams counters into a powerbomb to escape.

Williams & Dunne then exchange strikes with one another before Dunne looks to fly out of the corner.

Williams catches him with a neckbreaker and goes for a pin but Dunne kicks out as we go to a break.

After the break Dunne stomps on Williams’ tricep and connects with an elbow strike.

Dunne charges at Williams but Williams levels him and fires off right hands on him then follows it up with a pair of leg lariats and a flapjack then kips up.

Dunne rolls up Williams but Williams quickly kicks out and hits a uranage then goes for a pin of his own but Dunne kicks out.

Dunne fires off boots on Williams’s head then lands a German suplex on him.

He follows it up with a roundhouse kick to his head and ascends to the top rope but Williams meets him up there and hits an avalanche flapjack. He goes for a pin but Dunne manages to kick out.

Williams sets up for the Trick Shot, but Dunne sees him coming and rocks him with a forearm.

He follows it up with a step up enzuigiri but Williams levels him.

Dunne takes down Williams with a powerbomb then hits a series of stomps on the side of his face.

Williams gets fired up and connects with a series of chops and right hands on Dunne but Dunne snaps Williams’ fingers.

Williams looks to land Trick Shot but Dunne moves out of the way and Williams is sent crashing into the corner. Dunne then hits The Bitter End for the win.

Winner: Pete Dunne (13:00)

-We then head over to a video of a barbeque hosted by Hank Walker & Tank Ledger earlier today. We see Lexis King as the DJ of the party before Eddy Thorpe confronts him as well as Mr Stone & Stevie Turner have a wing eating contest with one another.

-After the break we see NXT Champion Ethan Page complain about the temperature of his ice bath to a medical official. Nathan Frazer walks in and wishes Page good luck in his NXT Title defense later tonight, and a verbal confrontation between them ensues.

Women’s North American Title Match
Kelani Jordan (c) vs. Tatum Paxley

Kelani Jordan & Tatum Paxley take turns locking in submission holds on one another.

Jordan rolls up Paxley but Paxley kicks out.

Jordan then hits an arm drag to her and follows it up with a shoulder tackle.

Jordan lands 2 more arm drags on Paxley then lands a flipping leg drop.

Paxley rolls out of the ring and Jordan flies over the top rope to level her.

Paxley crawls under the ring and Jordan reluctantly lifts up the ring skirt & finds a doll as Paxley emerges from the adjacent side of the ring and trips Jordan as we go to a break.

After the break Jordan rolls up Paxley but Paxley kicks out and looks to land an enzuigiri.

Jordan avoids it, and Paxley levels her with a bulldog.

Wendy Choo emerges at ringside and picks up Paxley’s doll that was left on the floor as Jordan levels Paxley inside the ring. Jordan rolls up Paxley but Paxley kicks out.

Jordan then hits a Hammerlock DDT to Paxley and looks to land a split legged moonsault but Paxley avoids it and Jordan hits hard on her injured knee.

Paxley hits a 450 Splash to Jordan off the top rope, and Jordan charges at her.

Paxley trips Jordan and ascends back up to the top rope but Jordan meets her up there and hits a Spanish Fly then follows it up with a splash for the win.

Winner & Still Women’s North American Champion: Kelani Jordan (13:09) (STILL CHAMPION!!!)

-After the match Choo hands Paxley her doll, but locks in a Sleeper on her. Jordan approaches them and finds Paxley asleep as Choo stares her down.

-No Quarter Catch Crew spoke backstage before Wren Sinclair interrupted and asked where was Tavion Heights. Dempsey clarified that Heights was in Japan for the Pro Wrestling Noah’s N1 Victory Tournament before The Family. Heritage Cup Champion D’Angelo guaranteed to Dempsey if Sinclair won her match tonight, he would get a shot at the Heritage Cup in the future.

-Axiom finally arrived at the NXT Performance Center telling Nathan Frazer he was ready for their match tonight.

-Pete Dunne brawled with Trick Williams backstage before an army of producers separated them.

NXT Title Match
Ethan Page (c) vs. Oro Mensah

Oro Mensah fires off chops on Ethan Page in the corner then follows it up with a hurricanrana and a splash in the corner. He connects with a running kick and goes for a pin but Page kicks out.

Mensah delivers a forearm on Page’s spine then lands a chop.

Page sends Mensah crashing into the top turnbuckle face first then hits a chop on him.

Mensah fires off strikes on Page then hits a boot to him through the middle rope as we go to a break.

After the break Mensah looks to land a springboard moonsault on Page.

Page catches him with a kick then follows it up with a powerslam and goes for a pin.

Mensah kicks out and hits a suplex to Page then fires off right and left hands on him.

He hits a clothesline and an elbow then hits a Scissor Kick and goes for a pin but Page kicks out.

Page connects with a roundhouse kick on Mensah’s head then looks to drag Mensah up to the top rope.

Mensah escapes Page’s grasp and lands a kick that sends Page crashing out of the corner.

He then hits a tope suicida and dumps Page back inside the ring then lands a roundhouse kick and goes for a pin but Page kicks out.

Page & Mensah exchange right hands with one another before Mensah hits an enzuigiri to Page from the apron and a single leg dropkick off the ropes.

He follows it up with a dropkick on Page through the ropes on the outside and brawls up the ramp with him.

He sends Page’s head bouncing off one of the decorative picnic tables but Page tosses Mensah into the other.

He then hits an Ego’s Edge to him through it and dumps him back in the ring then connects with a DDT and goes for a pin but Mensah manages to kick out and Page sets him up for another Ego’s Edge.

Mensah escapes and rolls Page up twice but Page kicks out.

Mensah then hits a DDT and follows it up with a leg lariat in the corner.

He goes for a pin but the referee spots Page’s foot under the bottom rope and stops his count.

Mensah then looks to fly off the top rope but trips on it & this opens the door for Page to connect with an Ego’s Edge on him for the win.

Winner & Still NXT Champion: Ethan Page (13:09) (STILL CHAMPION!!!)

-After the match Page says it’s the Era of All Ego. He says he doesn’t care who his next challenger is then says it’s not NXT because it’s NX Me.

-Kelly Kincaid interviewed The Rascalz ahead of their NXT Tag Team Titles challenge tonight. Wes Lee reflected on his road to being NXT and having to figure things out on his own after Zachary Wentz was released from WWE but being back with his brothers was the best moment of his NXT career before promising to win the NXT Tag Team Titles.

-After the break we head back over to another video of Hank Walker & Tank Ledger’s barbeque from earlier today. Jaida Parker & Lola Vice find themselves in a verbal exchange over who gets the next shot at the Women’s Title. One of the attendees tries shooting his shot with them but Vice, Parker & Ruca triple powerbomb him through a table.

Joe Hendry vs. Joe Coffey

Joe Coffey lands a backbreaker on Joe Hendry before Hendry lands a jumping knee on Joe Coffey but Joe Coffey looks to land a crossbody on him out of the corner.

Hendry sees him coming and Joe Coffey is sent crashing into the mat before Hendry hits Joe Coffey with a delayed vertical suplex.

He fires off right hands and stomps on Joe Coffey in the corner then levels him and clotheslines him out of the ring as we go to a break.

After the break Hendry looks to roll up Joe Coffey but Joe Coffey avoids it and looks to lock in a submission on Hendry.

Hendry prevents him from doing so but Joe Coffey sends his face bouncing off the top rope.

Mark & Wolfgang look to attack Hendry as Joe Coffey distracts the referee but Hendry takes them both down.

He tangles Mark up in the ring skirt and grabs a chair then hands it over to Wolfgang and lays on the announce desk pretending he was just hit with it.

The referee ejects Mark & Wolfgang from ringside, and Hendry rolls Joe Coffey up back inside the ring. Joe Coffey kicks out and Hendry connects with a back body drop on him.

He hits a fallaway slam and rallies up the crowd then hits Standing Ovation for the win.

Winner: Joe Hendry (8:12)

-After the match Sarah Schreiber joins Hendry in the ring to talk about his time in NXT thus far. Hendry says he likes it in NXT then says he’s planning on sticking around.

-We then head over to a video of Chase U in their new classroom. Andre Chase credits Ridge Holland for making the new classroom happen before Holland walks in and gives a speech to the crowd. Holland then announces that Chase U will receive a NXT Tag Team Titles shot next week. Duke Hudson becomes fired up and vows to bring home the title with Chase but Holland clarifies that Holland will be teaming with Chase much to the disappointment of Hudson.

-After the break we see Shawn Spears approach Brooks Jensen at Hank Walker & Tank Ledger’s barbeque and offer to be his mentor. Brinley Reece talks with Carlee Bright and another competitor in the women’s division about how stacked the NXT women’s division is and Mr Stone comes up with the idea for a multi-woman match with competitors looking to make a name for themselves. Stevie Turner knocks Stone out and leaves to present Ava with the idea and take credit for the idea herself. Good Brothers confront Walker & Ledger and a brawl between both teams ensues.

Wren Sinclair vs. Kendal Grey

If Sinclair wins Charlie Dempsey gets a Heritage Cup Title match & joins No Quarter Catch Crew.

Match starts off with a lock up then they take turns locking one another in submission holds but Kendal Grey hits a crossbody to Wren Sinclair out of the corner.

Sinclair locks in a Bow & Arrow on Grey but Grey counters into a pinfall.

Sinclair kicks out and Grey catches her with a neckbreaker then lands a pair of back elbows on her.

She then hits a belly 2 belly suplex and lands a 2nd suplex before going for a pin but Sinclair kicks out but Myles Borne hops up on the apron to distract the referee.

Sinclair looks to take advantage and roll up Grey but Grey kicks out then Grey rolls up Sinclair but Sinclair counters into a fall of her own.

Charlie Dempsey considers helping Sinclair but opts not to then Sinclair drives Grey into the mat with BFT for the win.

Winner: Wren Sinclair (4:15) (Since she won Charlie Dempsey gets a Heritage Cup Title match & joins NQCC)

-There is a video package of Je Von Evans where he detailed taking a photo with Lord Tensai Matt Bloom in his childhood before joining WWE just last year. Evans said he did not know where he would be in 10 years but said he was here to takeover.

-North American Champion Oba Femi was interviewed backstage where he revealed he would defend his title next week. Heritage Cup Champion Tony D’Angelo interrupted and said he would face Charlie Dempsey next week and there was nothing Dempsey could do about it.

NXT Tag Team Titles Match
Nathan Frazer & Axiom (c) vs. MSK (Zachary Wentz & Wes Lee)

Axiom & Wes Lee take turns locking one another in submission holds before Nathan Frazer becomes legal and rolls up Lee. Lee kicks out before Zachary Wentz tags in and hits a Bronco Buster to Frazer.

Lee tags back in and Frazer lands an enzuigiri on him.

Axiom tags back in and hits a crossbody off the top rope then clocks Wentz on the apron and dumps Lee out of the ring.

Frazer flies over the top rope to level MSK on the outside and Axiom follows suit by hitting a moonsault off the top rope. Frazer & Axiom then hold up the NXT Tag Team Titles as we go to a break.

After the break Lee & Axiom tag in & Lee fires off strikes on Axiom then hits a pair of kicks to him in the corner and tags Wentz in. Lee looks to catapult Axiom into a kick from Wentz but Axiom avoids it.

Frazer tags in and Axiom hits a Spanish Fly to Wentz off the top rope.

Frazer follows it up with a Phoenix Splash and goes for a pin but Lee breaks the fall.

Lee goes after Frazer but Axiom looks to land a superkick on him but Lee avoids it and Axiom accidentally hits Frazer.

Lee then hits Axiom with a superkick and Wentz connects with a springboard cutter on Frazer.

He goes for a pin but Frazer kicks out so Lee tags back in and hits Hot Fire Flame to Frazer.

Lee goes for a pin but Axiom breaks the fall.

Frazer sits Lee on the top rope and lands a dropkick on him then joins him up there and connects with a superplex. Axiom tags in and they hit Chasing The Dragon on Lee with Frazer.

He goes for a pin but Lee kicks out then Axiom hits Golden Ratio for the win.

Winners & Still NXT Tag Team Champions: Nathan Frazer & Axiom (10:31) (STILL CHAMPIONS!!!)
Rate: 8 (Recommend)

-After the match The Rascalz hugs each other in the ring as Trey Miguel begins crying but Lee blindsides him with a superkick out of nowhere. Wentz asks what Lee is doing but Lee low blows him and berates Wentz. He tells him that he left him alone then fires off right hands on him and kicks him out of the ring. Lee lands a right hand on Miguel’s midsection then sends him crashing through the barricade and hits a running knee on Wentz that sends him crashing into the ring steps. Lee stands tall and heads to the back as the crowd boos him to close out Great American Bash.
