On August 9th, 2024 AEW aired the 157th episode of Rampage live in Winston Salem North Carolina.
Darby Allin vs. The Butcher
After the break Darby Allin flies off the middle rope.
The Butcher sees him coming and locks in a Texas Cloverleaf but Allin makes his way over to the bottom rope to break the hold.
Butcher sends Allin crashing out of the ring then sends him crashing into the barricade shoulder first twice before he sends him colliding with the ring post and the barricade spine first.
Allin flies out of the ring to level Butcher on the outside.
Allin then hits a splash on Butcher in the corner, but Butcher sits him on the top rope.
They exchange slaps before Allin connects with a Code Red and follows it up with Coffin Drop for the win.
Winner: Darby Allin
Wheeler Yuta vs. Rocky Romero
After the break Rocky Romero wears Wheeler Yuta down with a submission hold before Yuta runs over Romero with a clothesline and they exchange chops with one another.
Yuta lands an Atomic Drop on Romero then connects with an enzuigiri and sends him crashing into the mat. Yuta ascends to the top rope but Romero intercepts him and hits a Sliced Bread.
He goes for a pin but Yuta kicks out.
Romero looks for a 2nd Sliced Bread out of the corner but Yuta blocks him and hits a Tombstone.
He rains down Hammer & Anvil Elbows on Romero and locks in a submission on him & Romero taps out.
Winner: Wheeler Yuta
-We then head backstage to Renee Paquette talking to Willow Nightingale about Kris Statlander & Stokely Hathaway. Tomohiro Ishii approaches Nightingale and says he hates Hathaway as well. Nightingale then asks Ishii if he has plans for Wembley Stadium and they walk off to have a chat.
Tag Team Match
Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) vs. The Dawsons (Dave & Zane)
Dane Dawson & Isiah Kassidy then tag in and Kassidy fires off forearms on Dane.
He follows it up with a hurricanrana and goes for a pin but Zane Dawson breaks the fall and hits a splash to Kassidy in the corner.
The Dawsons look to double team on Kassidy but Quen saves Kassidy before Private Party connects with Gin & Juice for the win.
Winners: Private Party
-After the break we head over to a message from Dustin Rhodes. He reflects on being 1 3rd of the ROH World 6 Man Tag Team Champions and the recent developments between him & Sammy Guevara. Rhodes then puts Matt Taven & Mike Bennett on notice and tells them that he wants the ROH World Tag Team Titles. Taven & Bennett then enter and confront Rhodes before Bennett hits a low blow to Rhodes.
Saraya vs. Nyla Rose
Harley Cameron hops up on the apron and keeps the referee from counting the fall but Nyla Rose stares her down on the outside. Saraya looks to take advantage but Rose clocks her.
Cameron then looks to clock Rose, but Rose levels her.
Saraya then hits a kick to Rose but Rose hits a Brainbuster on her as Saraya falls into a pin and Cameron holds her foot in place for the win.
Winner: Saraya
