For Some Reason Hulk Hogan Compared Himself to Chris Benoit and Thought It Was a Good Idea

So! Hulk Hogan. Let’s talk about it.

Hogan, an absolute professional wrestling legend and a noted racist who recently threatened to “body slam and drop the leg on Kamala Harris,” appeared on noted transphobe Logan Paul’s podcast, Impaulsive.

During said appearance, he said…a lot of things. Because that’s what Hulk Hogan does. He says things.

During the course of his appearance, Hogan told Paul that he signed a 5-year contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. He did not specify what type of contract it was (talent, legends, “nostalgia,” etc.). He also said that Logan Paul, who once filmed a dead man in Japan, which is the catalyst to his fame, will be a “huge babyface,” if and when WWE turns him. Along those same lines, Hogan suggested that Logan Paul be the one to “rescue” Roman Reigns from the Bloodline.

“You’re a really good heel, naturally,” Hogan told Paul. “And what is so cool — you’re gonna make one of the best babyfaces ever, when they turn you. Because the more heat you get, and the more hate…you’re gonna be an awesome babyface.”

Hogan must have forgotten (or just didn’t know), that WWE tried to turn Logan Paul into a babyface, during a feud with The Miz, and with Roman Reigns. It didn’t work, because Logan Paul is a genuinely unlikable human being. And most of the audience knows that.

Still, Hogan kept saying things. Because that’s what he does.

“For instance,” Hogan pontificated. “Bloodline, now. They’re starting to cheer for Roman. Just a quick thought off the top of my head [Editor’s Note: Clearly]. Roman comes back, the Bloodline pounds the shit out of him. Beats him like a dog. And he [Logan Paul] hits the ring. To save Roman. It would get him over, Bam! Instantly. Instantly babyface. It would be Hulk Hogan babyface, personified.”

The irony of that last statement is incredible.

But, that’s not all Hulk Hogan said. Paul brought up the topic of Hogan’s perceived fall from grace. And Hogan, acknowledging the “mistakes” that he made (IE – stating that “I am racist, to a point, f*cking n*ggers”), compared himself to another wrestler who fell from grace in a very noteworthy fashion.

Speaking on whether he believed wrestling fans have forgiven him for his, like, super specific racist comments, Hogan said that “Wrestling fans are very forgiving. If Chris Benoit can do the crap he did and the fans still love him, they’re very forgiving. I’ve made some mistakes in my personal life. They forgive you.”

To be clear, the “crap” that Chris Benoit did was murder his wife and his special needs child, before taking his own life.

To be even more clear, wrestling fans have not forgiven Chris Benoit. For murdering his wife and son.

To be as clear as possible, forgiveness is offered to people who have actually learned and grown from their “mistakes.” It isn’t typically offered to people who apologize because they were caught, on video, in which said person was sleeping with the wife of Bubba the fucking Love Sponge.

Not to belabor the point when it comes to Hogan’s perceived (and proven) racism, but just a couple weeks ago we reported that Hulk Hogan went on a drunken tirade in which he threatened to body slam and leg drop the current Vice President and Presidential nominee, Kamala Harris. Who is a half-Jamaican and half-Indian woman. But not the the type of “Indian” that Hogan was thinking of, when he mockingly held his hand up and said “Hau.” Kamala Harris isn’t Native American. She is Indian. But Hulk Hogan didn’t know that because Hulk didn’t even understand the type of racist he was being.

To absolutely, positively, beyond a shadow of a doubt clear…wrestling fans have not forgiven Chris Benoit. And, for the most part, it seems like they haven’t forgiven Hulk Hogan, either. Granted, his actions weren’t “as bad,” as Chris Benoit’s. But that’s only because Benoit literally murdered two people, so it’s not that high of a bar, y’know?
