With how legendary a feud or rivalry can become, it’s always a fun time to look at current beef in the entertainment or music world and find certain comparisons between the musicians and the wrestlers inside the squared circle.
During an interview with Shakiel Mahjouri, former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland compared the legendary match between Bryan Danielson and Kenny Omega to the beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
“If I had to compare it in a wrestling sense, man, I think that would be like Kenny [Omega] and Will Ospreay type feel. If you had to put those guys up of that generation. It’s crazy for me, but I feel like the difference is just the difference of philosophies and what success is. That’s how I saw what Kendrick and Drake was. I feel like that’s the same way of like a Kenny, and maybe not as much Will, but maybe more of like a Kenny and Bryan Danielson. There are two different types of philosophies of what pro wrestling truly is of this generation.”
Strickland came up short when defending his AEW World Championship against Danielson at All In where Danielson won the gold and kept his career going, if he were to lose, he would have had to retire from pro wrestling forever.
