NJPW announces Yuya Uemura to miss six months
Young NJPW star to miss significant time.
In an article published to their Medium.com page and Japanese website, New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced that an injury Yuya Uemura sustained in a match with Yota Tsuji on August 10th had been evaluated and diagnosed as a torn triceps.
Uemura, who defeated Tsuji in the match, would say post-match that he would continue the 34th G1 Climax but was forced to withdraw the next day. NJPW announced it will take around six months for a full recovery from the injury. In the article, Uemura expressed his desire to continue wrestling but acquiesced that he would take time to recover fully and return.
I want to wrestle so badly right now, but I have some way to go in my daily life let alone in the ring. What I want is to fire up all of Japan with pro-wrestling, and to be the strongest there is. That will take some time, but I’m going to do what it takes to heal up and get there. I’ll be doing all I can over this time to rest up and be even hotter when I come back. The Heat Storm will fire up your heart!
