Ren Ayabe Wins The AJPW 11Th Royal Road Tournament
The 11th All Japan Pro-Wrestling Royal Road Tournament came to an exciting conclusion on September 22nd at Korakuen Hall.
A sold out Korakuen Hall witnessed Ren Ayabe emerge as the winner of this year’s AJPW Royal Road Tournament. In the final match, Ayabe defeated Ryuki Honda in a thrilling match to earn the Royal Road Tournament winners trophy and secured a AJPW Triple Crown Title opportunity against current champion Yuma Aoyagi.
Following his win, Ayabe was confronted by Aoyagi as the two went at verbally for a few minutes before Aoyagi left the ring. The official date for Aoyagi defending his AJPW Triple Crown Title against Ren Ayabe has not been made official as of this writing.
In addition to defeating Ryuki Honda in the finals, Ayabe also was victorious over Yuma Anzai, Davey Boy Smith Jr. & Rei Saito.
Ayabe officially signed with AJPW back on April 1st and this is his biggest achievement to date.
