EJ Nduka details experience in WWE and current experience working in AEW/ROH.

I want to start this article by clarifying that I reached out to EJ Nduka to get permission to cover this story and permission was granted. More on that in a moment.

EJ Nduka started a thread on September 27th, 2024 detailing his experiences working with WWE, and the differences he’s experienced in his time with AEW/ROH. It started with a quote tweet of a clip from an appearance Swerve Strickland by The Breakfast Club. You can watch the video here. The clipped segment was posted directly by Swerve Strickland.

In a quote tweet, and continued thread EJ shared his experience coming from the NFL/IFBB into professional wrestling. I am not going to summarize everything he said; because I wouldn’t be able to put it into better words than he has. I am going to share the start of the thread directly and implore you to read it for yourself. In reality the only reason this article exists is to platform his story toward people who don’t utilized X/Twitter.

Lastly, in speaking directly with EJ Nduka, he made clear his wishes to emphasize his gratefulness for every opportunity he’s receive in AEW/ROH. He also told me that the whole purpose of why he spoke up is to spotlight certain talent are not getting opportunities; not because of skill or talent, but simply because they don’t think black people can draw.

We want to commend EJ Nduka for speaking so bluntly, and being brave enough to share his story against a sea of bad faith actors, and people who will misquote or misrepresent what he’s said. At the end of the day this is a first hand account; from a wrestler who has worked in both companies. That is indisputable.
