Trick Williams is a huge fan of the help that CM Punk has brought.
CM Punk served as the special guest referee for the NXT Championship between Ethan Page and Trick Williams for the CW premiere of WWE NXT on October 1st. Punk is also scheduled to make the walk one last time in his heated rivalry with Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood in a Hell in a Cell match.
While speaking to Ringer Wrestling Worldwide, Williams praised the help and advice that Punk has given the NXT locker room.
“CM Punk has been great to us here at NXT. We have athletes from all over, all different backgrounds. We have a little bit of everything here at NXT, and CM Punk has found a way to be able to be helpful to us all. Not just me, all of us. We sit down and take the knowledge. We learn from CM Punk. The fact that he’s special guest referee in Chicago is huge for us. I’m super excited for it. I know he’s going to call it down the middle,” he said.
In the main event, Page let his ego get in the way and Williams capitalized on the moment to become a two-time NXT Champion as Punk called it down the middle to crown a new king of the mountain.
