Carmelo Hayes received his first main roster championship match on SmackDown.
United States Championship Match
LA Knight put his United States Championship on the line tonight on SmackDown against Carmelo Hayes who earned his first ever main roster championship match after defeating AJ Styles last week. Both Hayes and Knight have been going back and forth for weeks on end. Now, the title match was on and both men went to war.
The current WWE Speed Champion, Andrade, watched from ringside as the match took place, because he has also had his eye on the United States Championship. Andrade continued to distract Hayes throughout the contest. In the end, Carmelo Hayes went for a cutter, which was countered into a BFT, and Knight retains the United States Title.
