West Coast Pro x Marvelous tryout winners announced
Ahead of West Coast Pro’s 6 year anniversary show “The Thing That Should not Be” on 10/11/2024, West Coast Pro held another tryout that they announced back in September.
This isn’t the first time they’ve held tryouts with previous winners being: Alpha Zo, Viento, Promise Braxton, Gigi Rey, The JAC, and Haley Dillon. This time around the deal was the same a previous tryouts. The winners would be selected to tour and train with Marvelous in Japan. Room and board would be taken care of by West Coast Pro.
The same day, 10/10/2024, they officially announced the winners of this editions tryouts. The first being Amira, who is a main stay in the Pacific Northwest, and graduate of the Oregon Pro Wrestling School. She has appeared on ROH multiple times and recently had a high profile match against current ROH Champion, Athena, at Prestige’s Roseland 9. This is her third attempt at the tryout; with her first being back in May of 2023.
The second winner announced was Fancy Ryan Clancy, who is a graduate from the Storm Wrestling Academy, traveled all the way from New Jersey to participate in the tryouts. He is a mainstay in Beyond and other East Coast based independents. He also notedly has a pretty sick dropkick.
West Coast Pro has been making their intentions for the betterment of both wrestler development, and the independent scene clear. They’ve recently forged a relationship with DPW & Prestige and held joint shows together, and exchanged talent. They have sent wrestlers like Vinnie Massaro, Titus Alexander, Alpha Zo, and many more to Japan to gain international experience. This has lead to things like Titus Alexander being featured in NOAH’s N1 tournament, or international wrestlers getting easer access to US bookings.
From us here at Bodyslam.Net, we want to send a big congratulations to Amira and Ryan Clancy, and well wishes on their future trips to Japan.
