Mark Briscoe Retains ROH World Championship Against Chris Jericho At AEW WrestleDream
Chris Jericho looked to become a nine-time World Champion in his pro wrestling career.
In the co-main event for AEW WrestleDream in Tacoma, Washington. Mark Briscoe looked to put a legend’s head on his wall when he defended the Ring Of Honor World Championship against Chris Jericho who had scored a pin over Briscoe earlier this year to earn the opportunity to claim gold.
After some interference from Big Bill, he would be thwarted and taken out by Orange Cassidy who competed on the Zero Hour of AEW Wrestle Dream where he was victorious with Kyle O’Reilly, Truth Magnum, and Turbo Floyd.
This would help Briscoe deal with Jericho all by himself without any nonsense preventing him from giving the leader of the Learning Tree the beating he needed. Briscoe would go crazy when he used a steel chair to assist him over the ropes, onto Jericho, and through the table to see if he could get one step closer to retaining the gold.
Even after Jericho landed a Codebreaker, a Judas Effect, and stole the Jay Driller to mock Briscoe before he went for the pin, it was still not enough to take out the heart of Briscoe who bounced back, chopped up Jericho, and nailed the Jay Driller to retain the Ring Of Honor World Championship at AEW WrestleDream.
