Jerry Lawler Says He Doesn’t Miss His Days On Commentary

The King is happy that he is not in the commentary booth anymore.

Jerry Lawler’s voice on the commentary table lasted decades, he, alongside Jim Ross was the voice of the Attitude Era going forward into the Ruthless Aggression era where they called the biggest matches in WWE history.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, Lawler spoke about his health after suffering a stroke in 2023 where he revealed that nowadays, he does not miss his days providing commentary in professional wrestling.

“I had a couple of strokes. That’s what cost me my deal with WWE and my commentating because my voice is not perfect, but it’s not good enough to do commentating.”

“Do I miss it? No… 10 or 15 minutes before it [his recent commentary experience] was over, I was thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, how much longer is this going to last?’ So anyway, as soon as it was over, I just got up, went about my business.”

Ross has said in the past that he would love to call one more show with Lawler if All Elite Wrestling were to allow them to have one night on the commentary table.
