Francis Ngannou Wins PFL SuperFight Heavyweight Championship, Dedicates His Win To Late Son Kobe
Francis Ngannou is STILL the Baddest Man On The Planet!
Ngannou Defeats Ferreira
Tonight, Francis Ngannou made his way back to the MMA cage after a two year plus layoff. Not only that, he made his debut under the PFL banner after walking away from the UFC as champion to pursue a Boxing career. After two big time boxing matches against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, Francis looked to test himself against after the biggest and baddest PFL had to offer, and he passed the test with ease.
Francis Ngannou battled Renan Ferreira, the reigning PFL SuperFights Heavyweight Champion. Renan, believe it or not, is bigger and taller than Ngannou, which led this to be billed as the Battle Of The Giants. Appropriate name. Well, the battle of the giants only lasted under five minutes as Ngannou got it done in one. They traded leg kicks in the early going, before Francis took Renan down. Renan tried to throw up a triangle choke attempt, but Francis got out of it and just started to ground and pound Ferreira’s face off, getting the KO with the quickness.
Following his win, an emotional Ngannou dedicated the fight to his late son, Kobe, who passed away earlier this year. He wants everyone to remember his son’s name by the time he’s called it a career.
