The Godfather: I Wanted The Undertaker To Induct Me Into The WWE Hall Of Fame In 2016
The Godfather did not get what he originally wanted in 2016.
When the Godfather was announced at the beginning of 2016 that he would be part of WrestleMania week and weekend with his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, there was one name he had in mind. However, the WWE had to let him know that they couldn’t get the Undertaker to do it since he was busy that weekend with a match and had to stay in character.
“They were like, ‘Well, at this point, we can’t use him.’ This and that. ‘How about Ron and John?'” Wright said, referring to Ron Simmons and John Bradshaw Layfield. “I was like, ‘Oh, that’s cool. I’m cool with them. They know a lot about me.'” Simmons said on Insight with Chris Van Vliet.
The Godfather would go on to get his induction and the Undertaker defeated Shane McMahon inside of the Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania 32.
