WWE Raw Review (October 28th, 2024)
On October 28th, 2024 WWE aired the 1,640th episode of Raw live in Hershey Pennsylvania inside Giant Center.
Note: This review will be shorter then normal as it be the last few mins of the match.
-Kicking off this week’s Raw with a recap of the Intercontinental Title match from last week.
-Footage aired from Smackdown of Motor City Machine Guns beating Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa to win the WWE Tag Team Titles after The Usos & Roman Reigns showed up.
-Jey Uso says he’s now in Hershey, and says a lot has happened over the last couple weeks including losing the Intercontinental Title and his ongoing issues with The Bloodline. He says there’s only one person that he wants to talk to after the events of Smackdown this past Friday during the main event WWE Tag Team Title match between The Bloodline and Motor City Machine Guns wherein he cost the Tonga & Loa the titles and reunited with Jimmy Uso.
-Jimmy’s music then hits and he makes his way out. He says he came out to look Jey in the eye and thanks him for what he did on Smackdown. He says he & Jey need to be together to take down Solo Sikoa and the rest of The Bloodline but Jey cuts him off and stares down Jimmy. He tells him that they aren’t the ones then says the last time he saw him was in April when they were facing each other at WrestleMania 40. He says a lot has happened since then then says fans no longer get confused between who is who. He says he became Intercontinental Champion by himself then says if they join forces, they aren’t going to be anyone’s yes men. Jimmy agrees and invites Jey to squash his beef with Roman Reigns on Smackdown this Friday. Jey agrees to show up and Jimmy asks if they’re good.
-Before Jey can answer, Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa look to blindside The Usos. Jimmy sees them coming, and The Usos gain the upperhand over them. Solo Sikoa then orders Jacob Fatu to take down The Usos and Fatu does so. The Bloodline ties Jimmy up on the ropes and holds him in place as Fatu places a chair on Jey in the corner and looks to connect with a hip attack. Jey tosses the chair at Fatu & The Usos send The Bloodline crashing out of the ring with a series of superkicks. Adam Pearce and other security guards then run down to the ring to keep The Usos & The Bloodline apart.
-After the break Backstage, Adam Pearce yelled at Nick Aldis on the phone. Pearce said he agreed to let Jimmy Uso appear on Raw, but he didn’t agree to The Bloodline appearing. Pearce told Aldis that he needs to control his damn roster and said he would call him back.
-Judgment Day approached Pearce. Dominik Mysterio said he was curious to know which former world champion he will face. Pearce said he didn’t have time for this and told Mysterio that he will face Damian Priest in the show’s main event. Carlito said that’s not cool. Pearce told them Happy Monday and walks away.
-Mysterio said he knows all of Priest’s tricks and will take care of him. Finn Balor said Mysterio needs to be careful. Mysterio said he would go out there by himself and would have the rest of the crew remain backstage
Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser
Ludwig Kaiser fires off right hands on Sheamus but Sheamus responds with a kick to his midsection and follows it up with an enzuigiri. Sheamus responds with a jumping knee and a Brogue Kick for the win.
Winner: Sheamus
-A Rhea Ripley video promo aired. Ripley said Raquel Rodriguez tried to paint a pretty picture of herself last week. Ripley said Rodriguez betrayed her with malice and ego whereas what she’s done to her and Liv Morgan has been deserved. Ripley conceded she’s make mistakes in the past. She said only cares about regaining the Women’s World Title and added that Rodriguez & Morgan would have to kill her to stop her
-We then head backstage and see The Usos run into Sami Zayn. Zayn asks to talk to Jey alone and Jimmy stares him down before Jey tells him to give him and Zayn a minute. Zayn questions if Jey is sure about reuniting with Jimmy and squashing his beef with Roman Reigns but Jey says he thinks that Solo Sikoa is worse than Reigns. Zayn says Sikoa didn’t play mental games with Jey for a couple years then reminds him that he doesn’t need to get involved because it’s no longer his fight. Jey tells Zayn he wouldn’t understand his decision because he isn’t family then walks away.
-World Heavyweight Champion Gunther was featured in a video promo. He spoke about Cody Rhodes and said he’s the golden boy for everyone else then labeled him a gutless champion. Gunther said Rhodes drags everyone else into his business including Randy Orton. Gunther hyped the Tag Team match for Smackdown then told Rhodes to ask Orton what it’s like to be choked out by him. Gunther said the same thing would happen to Rhodes and then called him a secondary champion
Zelina Vega vs. Ivy Nile
Zelina Vega then lands a chop block and a running knee on Ivy Nile but Brutus Creed distracts the referee and Julius Creed keeps Vega from landing a Code Red.
Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde get in their faces but Creed Brothers level them opening the door for Nile to connect with a swinging uranage for the win.
Winner: Ivy Nile
-Backstage Jimmy Uso asked Jey Uso how his talk with Sami Zayn went. Jey recalled telling Zayn that he wasn’t family. Well, he’s not Jimmy said. Jey said that Sami stepped up when Jimmy left. Jimmy asked Jey to let him talk to Sami. Jey was worried that something bad would happen but Jimmy assured him that he would just talk.
-Seth Rollins welcomes fans to Monday Night Rollins then introduces himself and says that Bronson Reed is a monster. He says he’s one too and while he put that side of him to bed a long time ago Reed has woken something up in him and reminded him what he’s capable of which is something that he admits that he isn’t mad about.
-Reed interrupts Rollins on the Titan Tron and says he promised Pearce that he wouldn’t go into the arena tonight in order to prevent what happened last week. He invites Rollins to come and meet him outside and Rollins storms up the ramp looking to find Reed. They begin brawling in the parking lot and Rollins sends the door of one of the trucks outside the area into Reed’s face. He then hits a Curb Stomp to him on top of a car. Reed hits Rollins with a garbage can and they brawl in the truck but Reed hits a Death Valley Driver to Rollins through a pair of table’s nearby.
-After the break we get footage aired from after last week’s Raw of The Miz telling Karrion Kross that it wasn’t working out and then wishing him good luck against The Wyatt Sicks. AOP blocks Miz’s path. Kross yelled about Paul Ellering taking a bullet for Miz. Kross said the only ways out were through them or the Wyatts, so he thought they should have a conversation.
-R Truth was shown with Alpha Academy. Truth said they looked better with the short, ugly guy. Otis assumed he was referring to Master Gable. Truth told him he couldn’t say that on TV.
-The Miz showed up and apologized to Truth. Dupri told Truth not to listen to Miz, who said Truth shouldn’t listen to Snow White and the 2 Dorks. Truth said Miz had a point then danced with him before dropping him with a slap. Good luck with the Wyatts Truth said. Y’all gonna die. Truth calls Pete Dunne by the name Butch as he walks past and asked if he’d seen Pete.
Finals Of The World Tag Team Titles #1 Contenders Tournament
War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) vs. New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) vs. Latino World Order (Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee)
Dragon Lee with a running dive to the outside onto Xavier Woods.
Rey Mysterio goes for the 619 but Chad Gable appears out of nowhere and drags Mysterio out of the ring. He applies a ankle lock on the outside.
War Raiders are back in the ring as Kofi Kingston tries to fight them off.
They hit a springboard clothesline/German suplex combination to get the win.
Winners & #1 Contenders To The World Tag Team Titles: War Raiders
-Backstage The Miz threw a fit to Adam Pearce about not having security. Pearce laughed. Miz asked him what was so funny. Pearce turned him around and The Final Testament was waiting. Karrion Kross told Miz to find Bo Dallas and ask why he’s getting involved his business or he would break Miz’s legs.
-Backstage Jimmy Uso looks for Sami Zayn and ended up finding Jey Uso outside the building. Jey asked Jimmy if he spoke with Zayn yet. Jimmy pointed to the parking lot where Zayn was speaking with Solo Sikoa. Jimmy said he told Jey and added that the 2 of them and Reigns had to handle things.
Dominik Mysterio vs. Damian Priest
Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez appear at ringside and distract the referee and Carlito & JD McDonagh attack Damian Priest.
Priest quickly recovers and clocks them both in the spine with chairs but Mysterio takes advantage and rolls up Priest for the win.
Winner: Dominik Mysterio
-After the match Priest repeatedly clocks Mysterio with the chair and hits South Of Heaven to Carlito. He lands one on Mysterio and stands tall in the ring staring down Judgment Day on the entrance ramp.
