BOOM! Adam Cole is back.
Adam Cole vs. Buddy Matthews
Adam Cole recently made his return to AEW, but now, it’s match time. MJF told Adam and Roderick Strong last week that the first one of them to get three wins in a row, can face him at Full Gear. Well, Buddy Matthews is Cole’s first challenger and it went down tonight on AEW Dynamite.
Adam Cole started out slow, playing to the “is he actually healed?” angle. But, Cole even took a spill to the outside, to which he had to walk it off while commentary gloomed about a potential re-injury. Cole seemed to be okay and made a solid comeback, but Buddy targeted the ankle and even stomped on it multiple times, which caused the doctors to surround Cole, asking if he can continue. They tried to take Adam out, but Buddy grabbed a mic and called Adam a fragile little bitch. This caused Cole to come back down to the ring and continue the match.
After battling some adversity, Cole bounced back. He brought the boom to Buddy and picked up the win while MJF watched along. After the match, Adam Cole thanked Buddy Matthews for reminding him who the real Adam Cole is. Cole and Buddy shook hands, then, the lights shut out and Malakai Black was standing in front of Cole, shaking is hand.
