Negotiations Are Ongoing For Shavkat Rakhmonov To Fight At UFC 310, Kamaru Usman Named

Rakhmonov vs. Usman?

UFC 310 Main Event

UFC 310 is set for December 7th in Las Vegas, Nevada at the T-Mobile Arena. Sadly, news broke about a week ago that the originally scheduled main event for the Welterweight Championship between Belal Muhammad and Shavkat Rakhmonov had been cancelled due to Belal having a foot injury. Despite this, Shavkat Rahkmonov wants to stay on the card and says via The Ariel Helwani Show that he would like for it to be an Interim Title Fight against former champion, Kamaru Usman.

When asked if this was a possibility, Shavkat’s translator/manager said the following.

Yeah, right now negations are going on and obviously there’s talking. I don’t know if they’re talking to someone else, but I’m sure they offered Kamaru, too.

UFC does have a Flyweight Championship bout between champion Alexandre Pantoja and the debuting Kai Asakura as the current co-main event for that card. It’s very possible that, that could be bumped up to the main event slot if need be. There were rumors of Alex Pereira vs. Majored Ankalaev as a short notice main event, but that was said to be not happening. We’ll keep you updated on the UFC 310 Main Event situation.
