Stipe Miocic: I Believe People Want To See (Stipe vs Jones). I Think A Lot More People Want To See The Fight Than Him Fight Aspinall
Stipe Miocic has some thoughts.
UFC 309: Miocic vs. Jones
Jon Jones is defending his Heavyweight Championship against Stipe Miocic on November 16, 2024 at UFC 309 in Madison Square Garden. There’s been many rumors surrounding the fight, saying that whoever wins or loses, this could potentially be both mens last UFC fights due to retirement. Neither man has officially announced it will be their last fight, but, many fans believe that if it is, it was a mistake not to have Jon Jones, the champion, fight Tom Aspinall, the intern-champion, in a unification bout.
Despite many fans expressing their interest in Aspinall versus Jones, Stipe Miocic still dissent believe it. Stipe sat down for an interview with MMA Fighting where he says that he believes more people want to see Jon Jones face him instead.
I believe so [there’s a reason why it’s happening]. I believe people want to see that. I think a lot more people want to see the fight than him fight Aspinall.
[Tom Aspinall is] tough. He hits hard. Big boy. It’s what people want, he knocks people out.
Stipe did give a little nod to Tom, but, he ultimately thinks himself and Jon is the bigger and better fight. Fans though, are still clamoring for the winner to not retire and take on Tom Aspinall once and for all.
