Plessis vs. Chimaev?
Dricus Du Plessis is the current UFC Middleweight Champion and he’s ready for all challengers. Currently, there’s a debate on who could be next against Plessis between Sean Strickland and Khamzat Chimaev. Though his next opponent is unknown, Dricus is ready for either, but he does believe Khamzat is the harder test. Dricus Du Plessis sat down with Submission Radio and while on the topic of Chimaev, Dricus has a plan and he’s ready to kill. When asked what the first round would be like, Dricus had an interesting assessment.
[It would look] like absolute chaos, it’s going to be absolute chaos. I just think, I don’t see him coming with a different game-plan, and me neither. I’m going out there to attack, I’m going out there to kill him. I’m not going out there to defend Khamzat’s takedowns. I’m not going out there to defend, I’m going out there to attack. I think its going to look a little bit different.
Dricus went on to compare him versus Khamzat to Khamzat versus Gilbert Burns or Kamaru Usman, except he’d beat Chimaev. Khamzat Chimaev is coming off of a dominant first round victory over Robert Whittaker this past month. With that performance, many believe Chimaev could be next for the gold.
We’ll have to wait and see who gets the next title shot against Dricus Du Plessis.
