Reinier de Ridder: If You Think Of Signing With ONE Championship, Don’t

Reinier de Ridder is honest about ONE.

UFC Vegas 100

Reinier de Ridder made his UFC debut Saturday at UFC Vegas 100 in the co-main event. After two hard fought rounds, de Ridder defeated Gerald Meerschaert in the 3rd via submission.

Reinier de Ridder was a former two division world champion in ONE Championship where he dominated most of his opponents before leaving the company back in March. Now, following his UFC win, he advised fighters to not go to ONE. Then, he spoke at the post-fight press conference and issued fighters to not sign with ONE Championship again.

Yeah, it’s been a bad couple of years. The stress I’ve been put through, the stress my families been out through, to even just get fights, it hasn’t been nice. This is something, it’s hard for me to talk bad because I’ve had a couple good years in ONE as well. Like, in the beginning, they treated me well. But, over the last couple of years, it’s been really bad. And this is something I feel I have to do for other fighters. If you think of signing with ONE Championship, don’t. It’s just simple. You should not. There’s nothing there, there’s no fights, you’re just wrong if you do this. If you sign there, this is a bad mistake.

de Ridder was a two-division world champion with the company, but now he’s eyeing UFC gold. You can see the full results of UFC Vegas 100 and his win here.
