Gillian Robertson Speaks On Luana Pinheiro Stealing Her Colors, Says It’s Her Funeral
Red is Gillian’s color.
Gillian Robertson defeated Luana Pinheiro at UFC Vegas 100 Saturday night. But, something was off. Gillian wasn’t wearing her signature red fight kit. Well, that’s because Luana was, forcing Gillian to wear black.
Following the fight, Gillian was asked about the fight kit switch up at the post-fight press conference where she revealed she believes Luana did it on purpose.
I think it was on purpose. So, she’s worn red once before, but, the UFC texted me and they’re like “oh, she’s wearing red so you have to choose either black or white.” And I was like “I didn’t know Brazil could wear red” and she’s like “oh no, they can, she’s representing a different country, so she can wear the red shorts.” So, that’s why I posted on Instagram, I was like “okay, I’ll wear black since it’s Luana’s funeral.”
She was asked why Luana got first choice and Gillian explained.
She’s ranked above me, so she gets the first choice, yeah. Unfortunately. And they made a point to me to that one day I’m going to have to fight Weili for the red, so, gotta get used to it right now.
Robertson was asked if she ever thought to take Luana’s Brazil colors, to which she said no, but she had a different idea.
No, somebody made the mention to me though that I should wear white and paint it red with her blood!
