Dana White Says Jones vs. Aspinall Is Next, If Jon Wants To Fight Again
Dana has put his foot down.
Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall
Jon Jones has been on a tear this week whenever Tom Aspinall’s name is brought up. Early in the week, Jon claimed that if he wins Saturday, he will not fight interim champion Tom Aspinall next, he would rather have a super fight against Alex Pereira. Jon then doubled down on that and said its Pereira next or retirement.
Earlier today, Jon even walked out of an interview because he refused to take questions about Tom. Now, the boss has put his foot down. Dana White was on “The Jim Rome Show”, which is broadcasted live from X, Prime Video, Samsung TV Plus, LG, Vizio and Plex. During the interview, Dana was asked about the whole Jones/Aspinall debacle, to which he put his foot down and made it clear, it’s Aspinall or nothing.
If Jon Jones wants to fight again after Saturday night, he will fight Tom Aspinall.
Despite Dana saying this, it still isn’t guaranteed. There’s a world where Jon Jones doesn’t get past Saturday night if he loses to Stipe Miocic, which it seems like everyone is overlooking. Nonetheless, whoever is the UFC Heavyweight Champion after UFC 309 Saturday night, Tom Aspinall is next up. You can see the full card for UFC 309 here.
