Charles Oliveira’s Friendship With Ian Garry
Ian Garry is often in the media when he’s being jumped on by fans and other fighters alike. People have criticized and made fun of Ian Garry for a while due to internet memes and outside antics, especially brought on by Colby Covington and Geoff Neal during their back and forth encounters. But, Charles Oliveira sees him differently.
Ian Garry, originally from Ireland, now trains in Brazil with Charles Oliveira and his team. Ian has moved his life down to Brazil and is dedicated to building his craft there. Recently, Charles Oliveira sat down with Nina Drama and was asked about Ian Garry, and what it’s like to see him in person on a regular basis. Oliveira gave a wholesome answer.
I just think that that it’s a character. But, I can tell you what I see from him, like you see what’s out there, but I see a guy that’s a lovely guy, very family orientated, very great with his son, great with his wife. Just a big heart, somebody that’s very respectful to everybody on the team. So, I think you see something that sells, and what sells is he came in from Ireland with that persona and all I can say is what I see of him. He’s just a guy, that’s what I see. A guy that’s wholesome, always with his family, respectful to everybody. I just, contrary to what people say, I mean, that’s what really matters to me. I can only say what I see, so, it probably sells, the villain thing, but that’s who I see on my day-to-day with him.
