AEW Full Gear Review (November 23rd, 2024)

On November 23rd, 2024 AEW aired the 6th annual Full Gear live in Newark New Jersey inside Prudential Center.

Note: This review will be shorter then normal as it be the last few mins of the match.

Deonna Purrazzo vs. Anna Jay (Pre Show)

Taya Valkyrie hits a spear to Anna Jay on the outside but the referee catches her and ejects her from ringside. 

Deonna Purrazzo then locks in another Fujiwara Armbar on Jay but Jay counters into a pinfall for the win.

Winner: Anna Jay (7:22)

Fatal 4 Way Match
The Beast Mortos vs. Buddy Matthews vs. Dante Martin vs. Komander (Pre Show)

Dante Martin & Buddy Matthews exchange strikes as The Beast Mortos & Komander do the same.

Dante Martin connects with a Frog Splash off the top rope on Mortos but Matthews breaks the fall with a Curb Stomp on Martin for the win.

Winner: Buddy Matthews (10:35)

Big Boom AJ vs. QT Marshall (Pre Show)

Aaron Solo hops up on the apron but Big Boom AJ hits him with a right hand.

He turns around into a big boot from QT Marshall but while the referee is distracted by Solo.

Big Justice lands a spear on Marshall then AJ then follows it up with a Powerboom for the win.

Winner: Big Boom AJ (11:44)

-We then head backstage and see TBS Champion Mercedes Mone chew out Kamille. She vents her frustrations about everything she’s done that she’s found to be frustrating then tells her to stay in the back during her match against Kris Statlander later tonight.

AEW World Tag Team Titles Fatal 4 Way Match
Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) (c) vs. Kings Of The Black Thorne (Brody King & Malakai Black) vs. The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) vs. The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster)

Max Caster tells Anthony Bowens to pin him but Isiah Kassidy breaks the fall.

Bowens connects with The Arrival on Kassidy & Caster looks to fly off the ropes.

Private Party counters into the Gin and Juice for the win.

Winners & Still AEW World Tag Team Champions: Private Party (13:29) (STILL CHAMPIONS!!!)

MJF vs. Roderick Strong

MJF rolls up Roderick Strong but Strong counters into a pin of his own.

MJF kicks out but Strong responds with a pair of gutbusters and a running knee.

MJF continues wearing down Strong’s shoulder with the Salt Of The Earth and Strong taps out.

Winner By Submission: MJF (13:35)
Rate: 6

-After the match MJF grabs a chair and sandwiches Strong’s arm in it. He stomps on the chair to attack Strong’s arm but Adam Cole’s music hits and he runs down to the ring alongside Mike Bennett & Matt Taven. MJF retreats but Kyle O’Reilly appears and shoves Cole. Taven & Bennett look to help Cole up but Cole gets up himself as O’Reilly helps Strong to the back.

TBS Title Match
Mercedes Mone (c) vs. Kris Statlander

Mercedes Mone then slaps Kris Statlander but Statlander rolls her up.

Mone kicks out and Statlander gets her into an electric chair position.

She sends her crashing into the mat face first but Mone bites her leg and pins her for the win.

Winner & Still TBS Champion: Mercedes Mone (19:23) (STILL CHAMPION!!!)

Jay White vs. Hangman Page

Jay White sends Hangman Page crashing into the mat then cinches in a reverse Figure 4 on Page.

Page gets his hand on the bottom rope to escape then sends him crashing into the mat with a Dead Eye and goes for a pin. White kicks out. 

Page then cinches in another Ankle Lock on White but White counters into Blade Runner for the win.

Winner: Jay White (19:52)
Rate: 7

-After the match an enraged Page clocks White from behind on the entrance ramp. Christopher Daniels and another referee appear at ringside to check on Page but Page levels Daniels.

Will Ospreay vs. Kyle Fletcher

Kyle Fletcher hits a Tombstone to Will Ospreay off the apron and on top of the ring steps.

They get back inside the ring and Fletcher sends Ospreay crashing into the mat and pins him but Ospreay kicks out and rolls Fletcher up.

Fletcher kicks out and Ospreay fires off right hands on him but Fletcher intercepts one and hits a Brainbuster to Ospreay onto the top turnbuckle for the win.

Winner: Kyle Fletcher (24:13)
Rate: 9 (Recommend)

-After the match Mark Davis runs down to the ring to check on Ospreay and helps him up. 

-Mina Shirakawa introduces Women’s Champion Mariah May and she makes her way out. May says this is the Women’s Title she always deserved and says it’s been a tough 4 months but it was all worth it. She says there’s not a single woman alive who can touch her then says she couldn’t have done any of this without Shirakawa. Shirakawa hands her a glass of champagne and grabs one for herself. They toast and drink the champagne then celebrate with a dance party. May then looks to clock Shirakawa with one of her bottles but Shirakawa sees her coming and spears her off the stage through a table.

TNT Title Match
Jack Perry (c) vs. Daniel Garcia

Daniel Garcia connects with a modified piledriver on Jack Perry and pins him but Perry kicks out.

Garcia fires off chops on Perry as Perry eerily smiles then connects with a piledriver and locks in a Sharpshooter & Perry taps out.

Winner By Submission & New TNT Champion: Daniel Garcia (18:16) (NEW CHAMPION!!!)

International Title Match
Konosuke Takeshita (c) vs. Ricochet

Konosuke Takeshita sends Ricochet crashing into the mat with a belly 2 back piledriver but Ricochet gets Takeshita up on his shoulders.

He connects with an enzuigiri on him and ascends to the top rope but Takeshita trips him and sends him crashing into the mat off the middle rope with Raging Fire for the win.

Winner & Still International Champion: Konosuke Takeshita (19:12) (STILL CHAMPION!!!)

Swerve Strickland vs. Bobby Lashley

MVP looks to use his cane on Swerve Strickland but Strickland gets in his face.

This opens the door for Bobby Lashley to land a spear on Strickland through one of the barricades and dump him back into the ring.

He follows it up with a 2nd spear and cinch in The Hurt Lock & Strickland fades.

Winner By Submission: Bobby Lashley (13:22)
Rate: 6

-After the match The Hurt Syndicate dumps Prince Nana inside the ring and Lashley cinches in The Hurt Lock on him.

AEW World Title Match
Jon Moxley (c) vs. Orange Cassidy

Marina Shafir looks to hand Jon Moxley his briefcase but a returning Willow Nightingale runs down to the ring and begins brawling with Shafir.

Orange Cassidy then gets hold of the briefcase and clocks Jon Moxley with it.

He goes for a pin but Moxley kicks out.

Wheeler Yuta then blindsides Cassidy with a running knee opening the door for Moxley to hit Death Rider for the win.

Winner & Still AEW World Champion: Jon Moxley (19:21) (STILL CHAMPION!!!)
Rate: 6

-After the match Moxley holds Cassidy in place as Yuta pours a bottle of cleaning solution into his eyes. Hangman Page storms down to the ring with a chair in hand and hits Yuta then stares down Moxley. Christian Cage then appears and connects with Killswitch. Page hands Cage his contract for an AEW World Title match and retreats to the back. Jay White appears and connects with Blade Runner on Cage but Claudio Castagnoli clocks him from behind and helps Moxley to the back alongside Shafir, Yuta, & PAC. White grabs a chair and retreats to the back.

-Death Riders look to leave in their pick up truck but a car crashes into it before they can. They then leave in a separate car as Darby Allin emerges from the car that crashed into the pick-up truck and uses the skateboard to destroy the windshield of the car.
