Zelina Vega is a former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Carmella, but, she’s yet to hold singles gold in WWE. Could that change soon? Today, Zelina Vega defeated Chelsea Green to advance to the quarter-finals of the WWE Speed Women’s Title Tournament. The winner will receive a shot at Candice LeRae’s speed title.
Following Zelina’s victory today, she caught up with WWE camera’s backstage and had some words for the future.
Speed matches, man. That was definitely one of the more difficult matches, but for an unexpected reason. I felt like there was just everything flying at me at once, it happened so fast that you have to be on your toes, you have to be so quick and Chelsea, she’s actually really quick. And I’ll give it to her, there was a moment where she dropped me on my head a couple times and I wasn’t quite sure how that match was going to end up. But, just like I advanced in this tournament, I know I see gold in my future. Gold is in my future completely and I know that I’m on that path and it’ll soon be mine.
On WWE RAW, it was announced that another tournament is coming to crown the first ever Women’s Intercontinental Champion. No participants have been announced yet, but, there’s a chance Zelina could be in that tournament as well.
