Penta’s AEW Contract Up Next Week, Fenix Locked In Longer Due to Injury Time

The Lucha Brothers’ future in AEW appears to be taking different paths. While rumors swirl about both Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix potentially jumping ship to WWE, new information reveals a disparity in their contract situations.

Fightful Select reported this week that Penta’s AEW contract is set to expire next week. However, his brother Rey Fenix is locked in with AEW considerably longer. Sources indicate that Fenix’s deal extends “well into next year” due to added injury time.

This news adds another layer to the ongoing speculation surrounding the Lucha Brothers. Earlier reports suggested both were expected to finish with AEW this fall and make the move to WWE. Apparently, AEW caught wind of these plans and factored in injury time to extend their contracts.

Interestingly, Fightful notes that while there are no concrete creative plans for Fenix at this time, Death Triangle (Penta, Fenix, and PAC) were reportedly slated to capture the AEW Trios Titles at AEW All In in London. Whether this plan is still in the works remains to be seen.

With Penta’s contract expiring imminently, the wrestling world is watching closely to see what his next move will be. Will he re-sign with AEW, explore options elsewhere, or perhaps take some time off?
