It’s 10 years of the New Day, yes it is.
Anniversary Celebration
The New Day’s Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston have been having issues the past few weeks, culminating in a heated argument last week. But, they did come out to the ring together tonight for their 10 year anniversary celebration. The stage and ring were filled with New Day memorabilia, pictures and balloons to celebrate.
They kicked things off by thanking the fans for coming along for the ride over the past 10 years. Both men touted that they can’t believe they’ve done so much in the last 10 years. But, Xavier Woods says that what they’re about to tell us is not our fault. They have nothing but love for the fans. Kofi reveals that they’ve talked and decided that when it comes to the New Day going forward… But, they couldn’t finish because Big E made his illustrious return!
Big E hasn’t been apart of RAW television in a few years since being on the shelf after breaking his neck. The crowd were joyous to see the big man back. Big E took the mic and thanked the fans, but then said he wishes he was here under different circumstances, because he’s been watching Kofi and Xavier argue, and it’s been troubling him.
Big E takes the New Day down memory lane, through all the bad times, but they’ve always overcame them. Big E gave a passionate speech about what the New Day built meaning something to a lot of people and it means a lot to him, too. Big E reveals that until he is medically cleared to return, he’s going to be here to remind them who they are. He says he will be here to be their manager every single week.
Xavier questions why E came back now and not before when they were crumbling. Xavier says that E left them. Kofi then agreed, saying “so what” that he broke his neck, he left them. Kofi says Stone Cold, Kurt Angle and Edge all broke their neck and they came back, but Big E didn’t. They didn’t evolve for him. Kofi says he couldn’t have been back a long time ago if he wanted to? Xavier says he actually had to have surgery on his Achilles and he was back in nine months for him.
Kofi says if he really cared, he would’ve been back a long time ago. But, he’s chosen his new job, a new girl, new opportunities instead him them. Woods calls Big E a burden, because everyone only says they miss E. And they do too, but E doesn’t miss them. Kofi says that Big E broken their brotherhood and chose himself over them.
Woods says to stop teasing the people and tell them the truth, that Big E will never be cleared. Xavier Woods tells him to get the hell out of the ring and get back to the desk and tell call him when they need him. Big E says he will not let them throw this all away like this, he wants to fix this. But, Kofi and Woods say no. Big E then left asking if it was over, but Woods and Kofi wouldn’t answer.
Kofi told woods “it’s us, bro” and they shook hands in front of Big E as he walked up the ramp sad. New Day, is a New Team.
