GUNTHER is sticking around.
World Heavyweight Champion
WWE is on the cusps of retaining their World Champion. GUNTHER, who holds the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the WWE RAW brand, is sticking around with the company. As first reported by PWInsider, Gunther is finalizing a new deal with the company.
Fightful Select then updated to confirm this report and give some details on the longevity and pay of said deal.
WWE sources claimed to Fightful on December 2 that World Heavyweight Gunther was closing in on a new contract. Sources in the company expect it to be done this year, barring any unforseen circumstances.
Those we spoke to claimed the deal was a long-term, multi year deal and that the company has been thrilled with Gunther’s performance in the ring and at media obligations. One WWE higher up referred to Gunther as among the most professional talents they had ever worked with.
GUNTHER recently defeated Damien Priest to retain his title at Survivor Series this past weekend.
