Bryan Danielson Provides Update On His Neck
Bryan is still hurt.
Injury Update
Bryan Danielson has been out of action since losing at AEW WrestleDream and semi-retiring due to neck complications. Sadly, it’s unknown if he will ever compete again. But, he spoke about it at today’s AEW All In ticket event.
Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture caught up with Bryan and asked about how his neck was doing, and he provided a very real updated.
Yeah, so, my neck is not great. We were just talking about this not too long ago, like, it’s causing me to not sleep good and some of these other things. But, at the end of the day, I’m happy. At first it was a little bit tough because, it’s like having, for parents out there, it’s like the first three weeks that you have a child and you’re not sleeping at all, but then you get used to not sleeping very well and so, I’ve just become used to the not sleeping and yeah, I’m happy. I mean, I’ve just had an incredible time just being with my family, being with kids, especially we just had thanksgiving and you know, unbelievable.
He was then asked if surgery is required, to which Bryan says he’s trying to avoid going that route again.
So, I’m trying to avoid it. Maybe (possible to avoid) […] So, I’ve liked to have waited as much as possible, so, the idea to me is that, you know, surgery is a last resort, not a first resort. So it’s like, I’m trying some other things and I’m a little kooky, right? I just, people who know me, I’m a little kooky, I’m going to try some other things first, before going under the knife, and so, it’s like, yeah that’s kind of my plan now.
Lastly, Denise followed up by asking if Bryan Danielson believes he will ever wrestle again, to which he responds with a 50/50 answer.
If I had to guess right now, I’d say it’s 50/50 if I’ll ever, and you know what, I’m okay with that, right? I loved the time I got to spend doing this. But I’m also, I also love what I’m doing now.
We wish Bryan a safe recovery. You can see the full interview below.
