WWE talent won’t be working Hammerstein.

GCW is live from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on January 19, 2025. Last time GCW ran Hammerstein, they did have some surprises on the event. This time, there won’t be anyone from WWE.
Dave Meltzer was first to report on the latest Wrestling Observer NewsLetter that GCW made a request for Chelsea Green to work the Hammerstein event, as they wanted to book Chelsea and Matt Cardona against Joey Janela and Megan Bayne. But, WWE turned down that idea.
Now, Joey Janela will take on Masato Tanaka on the event in singles action. Matt Cardona will be there, but, currently unknown in what capacity. Cardona is also working ROH’s Hammerstein show against Chris Jericho for the ROH world championship.
Chelsea Green, a current fixture on WWE TV, is in contention for the WWE Women’s United States Championship.
