The Rematch is on.
UFC 311 Headliner
Islam Makhachev is set to defend his UFC Lightweight Championship against Arman Tsarukyan in what will be a rematch from a 2019, where Islam won via decision. Despite the win, it was a tough fight for Islam, as Arman was on of very few to take the champ down. Now, Islam sat down with Daniel Cormier for ESPN, where he says he will finish Arman this time.
The first fight I don’t know his background, he defends my wrestling, he’s tough, that’s why he gave me a hard time. But now I know everything that he can do.
Cormier followed up with “So you think you’ll finish him?”
I think, yes. Charles, every round, almost finished him. Do some guillotine, do some triangle choke, everything very close, but I think I have more chance.
UFC 311 takes place January 18, 2025 and will be UFC’s first Pay-Per-View of the new year.
