Chris Jericho Retains ROH Championship, Bandido Returns

A battle for New York.

ROH World Championship

Who’s the real New Yorker? Well, Jericho thinks he is. In the co-main event for ROH Final Battle, Chris Jericho defended his ROH World Championship against Matt Cardona. Jericho firstly, had the most New York entrance you’ll ever see, and Cardona was not amused.

As the match began, Jericho tried to taunt to the crowd, allowing Matt Cardona to hit his Radio Silence finisher immedietly for a near-fall. Cardona was on a roll from there, bringing the fight to the champion.

Chris Jericho had his moments in the match, though, too. At one point, Cardona even nearly was counted out but got into the ring at the last second. As things unfolded, Jericho nailed a big superplex off the top rope, but Matt wouldn’t let it keep him down. Cardona hit Jericho with a TigerDriver, but only got a two count. Jericho followed up with a code breaker, but Matt

then kicked out.

Big Bill then made his way down and kicked Matt in the face while the referee was distracted, but Jericho couldn’t finish it. In the end, Bryan Keith hit Cardona in the back of the head with the ROH title when the referee was distracted, allowing Jericho to win. The Jericho Family tree then attacked Cardona after the match. That was until a returning Bandido made the save and laid them out.
