Claudio Castagnoli Earns Three More Continental Classic Points To Tie At The Top
A worthy main event.
Darby vs. Claudio
AEW’s Christmas Collision was headlined by a Continental Classic Gold League Match between Claudio Castagnoli and Darby Allin. This one got off the rails very quickly.
Darby Allin attacked Claudio on his entrance and beat him up on the ramp, before climbing the stage set up and diving off onto Claudio. He took Claudio out, but Darby also hit the back of his head on the floor in the process and had to be checked on.
Of course, Darby continued the match and when they officially got into the ring, Castagnoli was all over him. Despite nailing his head earlier on, Darby didn’t care and continued to battle back and put his body on the line, trying everything to keep Claudio Castagnoli down.
Bodies were hurt, tables were broken and the crowd was hot for Darby Allin. It was Claudio, though, who stood tall after he defeated Darby Allin with a punch using brass knuckles when the referee was distracted.
Claudio and Ricochet tie at the top of the gold league with 9 points.
