Jon Moxley Retains AEW World Championship, Adam Copeland Returns

The takeover has just begun.

AEW World Championship

Jon Moxley had a helluva challenge when he defended his AEW World Championship against Orange Cassidy, Jay White and Adam Page. Being able to not even be pinned to lose your gold is hard enough, but when the three other men hate your guts, it’s even more of a struggle.

That’s exactly how this match kicked off when Jay, Orange and Hangman all immedietly targeted Moxley and beat him down. It didn’t take long for the rest of the Death Riders to come to Moxley’s aid, and all hell broke loose.

The three challengers then triple power-bombed Moxley through the announcers table and had him laid out, this then allowed Adam Page to attack White and Cassidy from behind and just like that, the momentary alliance was over. It was every man for themselves.

The chaotic encounter continued and bodies were being tossed all over the arena. The back of Jon Moxley’s head was bleeding as he re-entered the fray, which was a brutal look, but he powered through. All four men put all they had on the line and at different parts of the match, it seemed like any of them could’ve won.

The Death Riders continued their path to ruining the match for everyone else, and that’s exactly what happened. Jay White hit Marina Shafir with the Blade Runner, but was then hit by Wheeler YUTA, which allowed Moxley to pick the remains of Jay White and pin him for the win.

Following the match, The Death Riders went to beat down Jay White, but FTR made the save. But, they weren’t alone. Adam Copeland made his long awaited return and helped FTR lay out Jon Moxley and Company. Copeland grabbed a microphone and declared that Rated FTR are taking it all.
