Kazuchika Okada Advances To Continental Classic Finals, Swerve Strickland Throws Toilet Paper At Ricochet

The Final Semi-Final

AEW Worlds End featured both semi-finals matches for the Continental Classic. With Will Ospreay winning the Blue League, Kazuchika Okada and Ricochet battled in the semi-finals for the Gold League.

In recent weeks, the crowd has really turned their back on Ricochet, leaving a massive ovation for Okada, who is the current Continental Champion, as he won the tournament last year. Now, he’s close to getting it again, but he has to get through Ricochet, which is the first time these two have battled in one-on-one competition.

Ricochet was getting absolutely destroyed by the crowd, even which chants of “baldy” so, Okada slapped him in his head and the crowd went wild. As the match continued, Ricochet was not only battling Kazuchika Okada, but the audience as well. Possibly, it played a factor in the match and got to Ricochet because after a solid contest, Ricochet just kept paying too much attention to the crowd and it cost him. Following the match, Swerve Strickland made his way out to address Ricochet. Swerve says that he told Ricochet he would embarrass him if he lost, and he did. So, Prince Nana brought out a cart full of toilet paper and handed them out to the fans in the crowd. Swerve then told the fans to wish Ricochet a Happy New Year, and they all threw the toilet paper at him.
