Tony Khan Talks About WWE Running Live Event Head-To-Head In Orlando Against AEW World’s End PPV
AEW and WWE went head to head on Saturday night in Orlando.
Both AEW and WWE held live events on December 28th, 2024 in Orlando, Florida, with AEW holding their second annual World’s End PPV from the Addition Financial Arena on the UCF campus and WWE with a stop on their Live Holiday Tour from the Kia Center.
Following AEW World’s End, Tony Khan fielded questions as part of the World’s End Post Show Media Scrum. The Orlando Sentinel’s Jay Reddick asked Tony Khan about WWE holding a live event in Orlando on the same night going head to head with their World’s End PPV.
Khan said that he thinks it’s great for the city of Orlando to have two major pro wrestling events happening on the same night. He goes on to tout the success of World’s End, and puts over the crowd and venue.
“It’s great for the city of Orlando with two major pro wrestling events happening on the same night. There were thousands and thousands of fans at both shows. We had a capacity crowd here. It was so great being here at UCF. This arena has been a tremendous host, and for us and the community, it was great to have such amazing support from the fans.
It shows how strong worldwide pro wrestling, particularly here in the United States, is to have in one major American city with two promotions running head-to-head on the same night, to have two great crowds. I know our fans here were awesome, and it was a great show tonight, thanks to the Orlando fans. They were tremendous.”
