New Japan Pro Wrestling Interested In Bringing Former Champion In WWE To Company

New Japan Pro Wrestling has been in contact with a former Champion in WWE.

NJPW had their biggest weekend of the year over the weekend with Wrestle Kingdom 19 and Wrestle Dynasty taking place over a two night span at the Tokyo Dome, and their annual New Year Dash 2025 event closed things out on Monday. With New Japan potentially set to lose some of their top non Japanese stars, the company couple be set to bring in a former Champion in WWE to help fill the void.

According to a recent report from Sean Ross Sapp via Fightful Select, former WWE United States Champion and former NXT Tag Team Champion Baron Corbin, now going by his real name Tom Pestock has drawn interested from New Japan Pro Wrestling. Sapp stated that “the two sides have been in contact,” but it isn’t known exactly how far along those talks are.

“Fightful Select has learned that New Japan Pro Wrestling has shown interest in Tom Pestock, the former Baron Corbin. We’re told the two sides have been in contact, but we aren’t sure how deep those talks are.”

Pestock was at also recently backstage at AEW’s World’s End PPV where it was said that he was visiting friends that work with the company.
