Edge Went To William Regal For Advice Prior To Match With Randy Orton At Backlash 2020

Edge sought advice from William Regal in 2020 before his match with Randy Orton at Backlash.

Back in 2020, we saw a vicious feud between Edge and Randy Orton while the world was brought to an almost stand still due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Their match at Backlash was built to be “The Greatest Wrestling Match Of All Time.” This proved to be a lot of pressure for Edge and Orton to handle.

While speaking on his Gentleman Villain podcast, William Regal revealed that Edge came to him for advice ahead of his ‘Greatest Wrestling Match Ever’ match against Randy Orton.

“I remember Edge calling me when he was doing a match with Randy Orton, which was built as the Greatest Wrestling Match Of All Time, and he wanted ideas. And so I’ve got all these different things that I can tap into.”

Currently Randy Orton is on the shelf with a back injury, while Edge is off screen due to a vicious attack by The Judgement Day. There have been vignettes playing on WWE programming since Money In The Bank, promoting the return of Edge, per Fightful Select.
