It looks like Ricky Starks is set to break the record for longest reigning FTW Champion.
On this day last year, Ricky Starks would defeat Brian Cage for the FTW Championship and has held it ever since. We have seen Starks defend the championship several times in the 365 days since he captured the title.
Now, Starks is nearing the record for the longest FTW Title reign in AEW history, albeit with the title only having two champions.
At the time of this writing, Starks is just under two weeks away surpassing Brian Cage’s championship reign. Starks most recently ate the pin fall in the Triple Or Nothing tag team title match on AEW Dynamite this week, while Cage is currently in a Ring Of Honor faction, with no apparent desire to go back after the FTW title.
