Amanda Lemos Sinks Guillotine to Defeat Michelle Waterson in Co-Main at UFC Long Island
The co-main event at UFC Long Island went down between two caliber fighters and an awkward finish happened.
Amanda Lemos came into this fight off a submission loss to Jessica Andrade, she would sink in a guillotine to submit Michelle Waterson in the 2nd round of a potential 3 round fight.
That wasn’t the awkward part of the fight, what made this win feel weird for Lemos was the referee not seeing the tap from Waterson who said she tapped herself. It was later clarified that Waterson tapped on the back of Lemos.
This win will boost Lemos into the top 10 in the UFC’s Strawweight rankings, it was announced during the broadcast that Lemos former opponent Andrade pulled out of their UFC Paris fight in September vs. Manon Fiorot, this win for Lemos could lead to the UFC booking her vs. Fiorot in September if both women are open to it.
